Alaska Real Estate Post-Licensing Class
Continue Your Real Estate Career with Northern Trust Academy!
Effective January 1, 2006 the state requires all new licensees to complete 20 hours of
post-licensing education within one-year of initial licensure. Northern Trust
is proud to be one of the first real estate schools in Anchorage to offer this
class.

Course Modules

Contracts &
Agreements - 6 hours
Purchase and sales agreements, addendum and amendments, counteroffers, contingencies,
multiple offers, back up offers, differences between residential, land and
commercial transactions, and personal service agreements.

Property Management
- 3 contact hours
Landlord tenant act, rental, lease, and occupancy of residential and commercial
properties, associations, cooperatives, personal service agreements, management
agreements and lease listing agreements, and security deposit statements.

License Law
- 2 contact hours
Consumer pamphlet and waiver, ethics, surety fund, confidentiality, and conflict
of interest.

Paperwork &
Risk Management - 4 contact hours
Mandatory and area specific property disclosure, environmental issues, zoning,
convenants, conditions and restrictions, title reports, resale certifi cates
and public offering statements, home inspections and repair negotiations,
surveys, and recordkeeping.

Financing &
Closing - 3 contact hours
Importance and differences of pre-approval letters and pre-qualifications,
good faith estimates and loan types, including Internet lending programs,
review of settlement statements, security deposit transfers, rent prorations,
seller net proceeds and varitations in loan costs, the closing process, and
good fund law.
Completion
Once you have completed
the required education you MUST submit an Affidavit of Post-Licensing Education. This
form is available on the Commission web site. If you do not complete
the required hours within the 12 month period, your license will lapse!
Attendance Policy
Class size is limited.
Registration must be completed to secure class availability. Tuition must be
paid at the time of registration by Visa or Mastercard online or by check or
cash at Northern Trust Real Estate. There is a $25.00 NSF fee assessed for any
checks returned for non-payment.
To cancel, a student
must notify Northern Trust Academy 24 hours prior to the start of the class.
If a refund is requested, a $50.00 non-refundable cancellation fee will be charged.
The refund will be made to the student within 15 days of the request.
Students may reschedule
to a different date within 6 months of the date of the enrolled class. If the
student does not complete the class within 6 months, the tuition is forfeited
to Northern Trust Academy.
